Takeshi Murata's Melter 3-D and Monster Movie on view at SFMOMA

Ratio 3 is pleased to share that Melter 3-D (2014), a sculptural animation by Takeshi Murata, will be making its West Coast debut at the new SFMOMA, which opens to the public on May 14, 2016. Melter 3-D blends Murata’s unique animation aesthetic with classical sculpture, creating an entirely new experience of animation in the round.

SFMOMA also acquired Murata's seminal video work, Monster Movie (2005), which is available to view at sfmoma.org/monster. This is the first time Monster Movie has been shown in its entirety online. Both works are part of The Campaign for Art: Contemporary, the museum's inaugural exhibition of recent acquisitions.
